| Reverse description | A laurel branch rendered vertically in the central field, its stem rising from the lower exergue and bearing stylized leaves extending symmetrically to either side, a common symbol of victory and divine favor in Phrygian civic coinage. The inscription ΙΕΡΑΠΟΛΕΙΤΩΝ to the left and ΗΡΑΣ to the right flanks the branch, referencing the civic authority of Hierapolis and the magistrate Heras responsible for the issue. The reverse design is typical of Augustan-era provincial bronzes from the Conventus of Cibyra, combining civic pride with honorific imagery. |
