| Obverse description | Bare head of Paullus Fabius Maximus, proconsul of Asia, facing right, rendered in a compact and somewhat provincial Hellenistic style. The portrait features close-cropped hair and strongly modelled facial features typical of Roman magistrate coinage struck by Greek civic mints. The Greek legend ΦΑΒΙΟΣ ΜΑΞΙΜΟΣ is inscribed in the left field, reading downward alongside the portrait. |
