Obverse description Youthful bare head of Dionysus facing right, crowned with an ivy wreath, the curling locks rendered in the Hellenistic tradition. A thyrsus — the characteristic attribute of the god — is depicted vertically in the right field. The flan is irregular and the surface somewhat worn, consistent with provincial bronze coinage of the Antonine period. No legend appears on the obverse.
