| Reverse description | Capricorn depicted moving to the right, the mythological creature combining the foreparts of a goat with the tail of a fish. The Capricorn was the personal emblem of Augustus, referencing his birth sign and widely employed as an imperial symbol on both official Roman and provincial coinage throughout his reign. The design occupies the central field of the flan with no surrounding legend. The reverse surface is heavily patinated and the strike is typical of small provincial bronze issues. |
