Additional information

Year 10 of Trajan's reign — Regnal Year Iota — places this coin squarely in the period of Dacia's final subjugation. Alexandria's civic bronze issues of this moment were produced under the prefectural administration managing Egypt as an imperial estate rather than a province in the conventional sense, its mint output tightly controlled through the nome system. These small Æ denominations circulated almost entirely within Egypt's closed monetary economy, which barred outside coinage and forced all transactions through locally issued bronze.
