| Obverse description | Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Emperor Trajan Decius facing right, portrayed in three-quarter rear view. The laureate wreath is rendered with fine beading detail, and the drapery and cuirass are visible at the shoulder. The legend DECIVS runs partially around the periphery within a dotted border. The portrait style is consistent with provincial bronze coinage of the mid-third century, exhibiting the somewhat abbreviated artistry characteristic of the Alexandria Troas mint. |
