Obverse description Bare head of Emperor Tiberius facing right, rendered in the restrained classical style typical of Julio-Claudian provincial portraiture. The emperor's features are cleanly delineated with a strong jaw and smooth brow, consistent with official Tiberian iconography. The Greek legend CЄΒΑCΤΟC CΥΝΝΑΔЄΩΝ encircles the effigy, identifying the emperor by his honorific title and the issuing city of Synnada in Phrygia. The inscription is set within a dotted border along the coin's irregular flan.
