| Obverse description | Bare head of Tiberius facing left, rendered in the restrained classical style typical of Julio-Claudian provincial coinage. The portrait displays sharply modelled facial features with a strong jaw and prominent brow, set against a flat, unadorned field. The circular Latin legend surrounds the effigy, running along the periphery of the flan. The flan is broad and irregular, characteristic of provincial Æ issues struck under Roman authority in North Africa. |
