Obverse description Helmeted head of Athena facing right, rendered in fine Hellenistic style. The goddess wears a crested Attic helmet with a prominent raised crest and cheek guards, beneath which locks of hair are visible along the neck. The portrait is modeled in high relief with carefully defined facial features including a straight nose and firm chin. No legend appears in the field, the design filling the flan to the border.

Reverse description Nike, the winged goddess of victory, advances to the left in a striding pose, her drapery rendered in motion. With her raised right hand she crowns the royal name inscribed in the field, while her left hand holds a stylis (naval standard). In the inner left field, the piloi (caps) of the Dioskouroi appear above a monogram. The Greek royal legend ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ ΠΡΟΥΣΙΟΥ is disposed in the field, identifying the issuing king Prusias.
