Tashir-Dzoraget was a Armenian Kyurikid principality wedged between Bagratid Armenia and the expanding Seljuk frontier — a position that made its coinage output intermittent and its surviving bronzes genuinely scarce. Kiurike II ruled through the period of the Seljuk invasion of 1064–1071 that effectively dismembered greater Armenia, and the kingdom's continued minting under those conditions reflects its semi-autonomous status under nominal Georgian Bagratid suzerainty.
Ner#514 is among the more elusive Kyurikid attributions. Few institutional collections hold more than one or two examples.
