Obverse description Bare laureate head of the ruler facing right, rendered in a debased Roman imperial style, with the portrait showing draped shoulders visible at the bust truncation. A blundered and partially illegible Greek legend encircles the effigy in the field, reflecting the Kushan practice of imitating Roman coinage prototypes without full command of the Greek alphabet. The portrait retains a naturalistic quality reminiscent of early Roman provincial issues, with individualized facial features and a wreath of laurel leaves crowning the head.
