| Reverse description | A horseman advancing to the right at a vigorous canter, the rider brandishing a spear or lance horizontally in his extended right hand. The horse is depicted in a dynamic, energetic pose with forelegs raised. The ethnic ΚΟΛ (for Kolophon) appears in the upper field, while the magistrate's name ΔΙΟΝΥΣΙΦΑΝΗΣ is inscribed around the lower portion of the field, partially beneath the horse's hooves. The composition is characteristic of Ionian civic bronzes of the early Hellenistic period. |
