Obverse description Helmeted head of Ares facing right, wearing a crested Corinthian helmet, depicted in bold relief with a strongly modelled profile. The surface exhibits heavy green patina with areas of cuprite, consistent with ancient bronze coinage of Campanian manufacture. No legend is present on the obverse. The style reflects the local Oscan-Campanian artistic tradition, with the martial deity rendered in a robust, somewhat archaising manner characteristic of this short-lived wartime emission.
