| Obverse description | Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Septimius Severus facing right, with short beard rendered in the characteristic African style. The imperial effigy displays finely articulated hair and laurel wreath. A Greek legend encircles the portrait in the field, identifying the emperor by his titles. The flan is irregular, typical of provincial Thracian bronze coinage of the Severan period. |
