Obverse description Laureate and draped bust of Antoninus Pius facing right, rendered in the provincial style characteristic of the Antiochene mint. The imperial effigy displays the emperor's characteristic beard and mature facial features. A Greek legend encircles the bust, reading from left to right along the periphery, identifying the emperor by his full titulature. The flan is irregular and somewhat thick, as is typical of Syrian provincial bronze coinage of this period.
