| Obverse description | Central field occupied by a bold Arabic legend in nasta'liq script arranged in three stacked cartouche-like registers, giving the mint name Shiraz and the AH date 1149 at the base. The inscription reads: 'al-khayr fima waqa'a / zarb Shiraz / bi-tarikh 1149', affirming divine acceptance of what has come to pass, followed by the mint and regnal year. The entire design is enclosed within a plain inner circle surrounded by a prominent outer border of raised beads. |
