| Obverse description | The obverse field bears the Shi'a kalima in bold nastaliq script, arranged in two horizontal registers divided by a ruled line. The upper register contains the shahada 'La ilaha illa Allah, Muhammad rasul Allah' (There is no god but God, Muhammad is the Messenger of God), while the lower register carries the declaration 'Ali wali Allah' (Ali is the Friend of God). A partial border of pellets frames the design along the periphery, consistent with Afsharid hammered coinage conventions. The script is deeply struck with characteristic nastaliq calligraphic elegance, filling the flan. |
