Obverse description Portrait vignette of Saya San (1876–1931) — Burmese monk, herbalist, and leader of the peasant revolt of 1930–1931, and pretender to the Burmese throne — at centre, set against a fine guilloche underprint. The denomination appears in Burmese script and numerals, with the issuing bank title in Burmese lettering across the upper register.

Reverse description Two overlapping oval vignettes dominate the centre: the left vignette rendered in blue-grey intaglio shows a farmer in a conical hat guiding a wooden plough drawn by two oxen, while the right vignette in green depicts labourers transplanting rice seedlings by hand. A decorative medallion with traditional Burmese motifs occupies the left border, and a repeating microtext band reading 'UNION OF BURMA BANK' runs horizontally above the bottom denomination inscription. The numeral '90' appears in large outlined figures at lower right.
