Obverse description Central device depicts the Imperial Russian double-headed eagle with spread wings, each head surmounted by a crown, with a third larger crown above connecting the two heads, and an orb and sceptre in the talons. The eagle is rendered in the traditional heraldic style associated with pre-Soviet Russian coinage. A circular Cyrillic legend surrounds the eagle in the field, reading 'неразменная фальшивая монета' (meaning 'non-exchangeable fantasy coin'), with the date 1990 positioned at the bottom, flanked by raised dots.
