Obverse description Draped bust of King João V facing right, rendered in the Baroque style with elaborate flowing wig, occupying the central field. The mintmark B and date appear in the lower field beneath the truncation, flanking the bust. A continuous Latin legend encircles the effigy along the periphery, separated from the reeded border by a beaded inner rim.

Reverse description The Portuguese royal coat of arms of João V occupies the central field, displaying the characteristic arrangement of five escutcheons charged with bezants and a bordure of castles, enclosed within an ornate baroque cartouche flanked by elaborate foliate and scroll mantling. The shield is surmounted by the Portuguese royal crown with a cross at its apex. The lower portion of the field is adorned with stylized floral and foliate ornaments, while no peripheral legend is present, leaving the reeded border as the sole frame.
