Obverse description Unadorned effigy of King Bhumibol Adulyadej (Rama IX) in left-facing profile, wearing spectacles and a decorated military collar with intricate relief work. The portrait is rendered in high relief against a smooth field. A Thai-script legend curves along the upper periphery giving the King's full royal name, while an inscription at the lower portion of the coin reads 'ครองราชย์ครบ ๒๕ ปี' (25th Anniversary of the Reign). The design conveys a formal, regal character typical of Thai commemorative coinage of the period.

Decorative foliate or flame elements flank the lower portion of the central device. A Thai-script legend arcs along the upper field, and the denomination '๘๐๐ บาท' (800 Baht) is inscribed along the lower exergue in Thai numerals and script.
