| Obverse description | Central field displays the large numeral '80' denoting the face value, enclosed within a wreath of stylized floral and foliate branches interspersed with quatrefoil ornaments. The peripheral legend reads PETRUS.I.D.G.CONST.IMP.ET.PERP.BRAS.DEF, referencing Pedro I as Emperor of Brazil by the Grace of God, arranged around the upper and lateral rim. The date 1828 and the São Paulo mint mark SP appear at the lower portion of the coin, flanking the base of the wreath. The milled border encircles the entire design. |
