| Obverse description | Bare-headed bust of Carlo Felice (Charles Felix), King of Sardinia, facing left, rendered in high relief with finely detailed naturalistic hair in the Neoclassical style engraved by Amedeo Lavy, whose name appears in small letters below the truncation. The encircling Latin legend reads CAR. FELIX D. G. REX SAR. CYP. ET HIER., interrupted at the base by the mint date. A fine beaded border frames the entire design. |

| Reverse description | The quartered arms of the House of Savoy, comprising the dynastic shields of Savoy, Jerusalem, Chablais-Aosta, and Piedmont with the central inescutcheon of Sardinia bearing the Cross of Savoy, displayed on an ornate mantled shield surmounted by a royal crown. The shield is flanked symmetrically by two branches of oak bearing acorns, tied at the base with a decorative knot, with the denomination L. 80 inscribed in the lower field. The encircling Latin legend DVX SAB. GENVAE ET MONTISF. PRINC. PED. &. runs along the periphery, contained within a beaded border. |
