The 80 fillér denomination is a genuine oddity — no national currency system routinely issues fractional notes at that level unless something has gone badly wrong with the coinage supply. In 1925, Hungary was still clawing through the aftermath of postwar hyperinflation; the pengő reform was still a year away, and small coin production had not kept pace with everyday transactional demand. Provisional fillér notes were a stopgap, and the 80 fillér sits at the awkward upper end of that emergency range.
The dual-printer attribution reflects a split production run between Magyar Pénzjegynyomda in Budapest and Orell Füssli in Zurich — distinguishable by subtle typographic and paper differences that collectors have documented across the P#83 series.
