| Obverse description | Central field features the Singapore coat of arms, depicting a lion and a tiger as supporters flanking a shield charged with a crescent moon and five stars, surmounted by a lion passant. The arms are rendered in high relief with fine detail against a polished field. Singapore's Monetary Authority has issued lunar series coins consistently since the 1980s, but the kilogram silver format occupies a specific niche in that program — produced in strictly limited quantities for the collector market and almost never released into circulation. The 2017 Rooster issue falls within the twelfth and final position of the twelve-animal zodiac cycle before it resets, which traditionally generates stronger collector demand than mid-cycle years.
KM#458 is among the heavier modern issues in Singapore's lunar catalog, and surviving examples almost universally appear in original mint packaging.
