Obverse description Central circular raised field bearing the right-facing effigy of Queen Elizabeth II, rendered in a mature portrait style with tiara and draped shoulders. The legend NIUE ISLAND arcs above the portrait along the upper rim of the circular device, with the date 2021 below it. The denomination 80 DOLLARS appears beneath the portrait, followed by the specifications 1 KILO 999 Ag and the individual edition number 001/300. The surrounding rectangular field is finished in a brushed, matte silver surface, providing a striking contrast to the polished central medallion.

Additional information

The Sigismund bell, cast in Kraków in 1520 by Hans Beham of Nuremberg, hangs in the Sigismund Tower of Wawel Cathedral and has been rung by hand — requiring a team of several dozen volunteers pulling a massive clapper rope — only on the most significant occasions in Polish national and religious life. Its hanging in 1521 was itself a civic event of the first order. Niue has issued large-format kilo silver pieces under licensing arrangements for decades, and Polish historical and patriotic subjects form one of the most consistent veins in that catalogue.
