The Czech Lion series, produced by the Czech Mint for Niue, exploits a licensing arrangement that allows bullion-grade collector pieces to carry legal tender status under a Pacific island issuer while being marketed almost exclusively to Central European buyers. The 2018 kilogram issue sits at the top of the denomination ladder within the series, which has run annual releases since 2016 with incrementally refined die work.
