Obverse description Central field displays the crowned interlaced monogram 'CL' of Duke Christian Ludwig, flanked and entwined by two laurel branches in high relief. Surrounding the central device is a ring of fourteen heraldic shields representing the territorial coats of arms of the Brunswick-Lüneburg dominions. The value designation appears as a stamp within the composition. The peripheral legend reads SINCERE ET CONSTANTER with the date ANNO 1664 and the initials CL 8 LW, the latter referencing the engraver Lippold Wefer.
