| Obverse description | Draped bust of Christian V facing right, wearing a crown and long flowing wig in the baroque style fashionable at the late 17th-century European courts. The king's armored shoulder and draped garment are visible at the bust truncation. The circular legend is divided by the portrait, reading CHRIST•V• to the left and DEI•GRA• to the right of the effigy, all in Latin lettering. The relief is bold and well-defined, characteristic of Copenhagen Mint coinage of the period. |
