| Obverse description | Crowned half-length bust of King Christian IV facing right, armoured and draped, occupying the majority of the coin's field. The king wears a closed crown and plate armour with visible gorget and pauldron details rendered in the late Renaissance style characteristic of hammered Danish coinage. The circular Latin legend surrounds the effigy, divided by the date 1608 to the left. The legend reads CHRISTIANVS·IIII·D:G·DA:1608, identifying the monarch as Christian IV, King of Denmark by the Grace of God. |
