Reverse description The crowned rampant lion of Norway, passant and facing left, occupies the central field and is flanked by the mint master's initials P to the left and G to the right. The denomination numeral 8 appears to the lower left and the letter D to the lower right, with the letter S at the very base between them, together denoting 8 Skilling Dansk. The entire central device is framed by two crossed branches, rendered in a laurel-and-oak wreath style, tied at the base, with the royal crown positioned above the lion. A beaded border rings the outer edge of the coin.
