| Obverse description | The Bolivian National Coat of Arms occupies the central field, depicting the country's emblematic mountain (Cerro Rico of Potosí) with a radiant sun rising above its apex, a llama standing to the left, and a sheaf of grain to the right. The design is enclosed within a circular legend around the periphery, with the denomination '8S', the date, and assayer initials appearing in the lower portion of the field below a row of five six-pointed stars. The overall composition is rendered in high relief in the neo-classical republican style characteristic of early Bolivian gold coinage. |
