Obverse description Central device depicting the Bolivian national arms: the iconic conical peak of Cerro Rico de Potosí rising from a flat plain, flanked to the left by a standing llama and to the right by a sheaf of wheat, with a radiant sun above the mountain summit. The denomination '8S' and assayer initials appear at lower left, the date below centre, and additional mint and assayer initials at lower right, all separated by five-pointed stars. The circular legend 'REPUBLICA BOLIVIANA' arcs around the upper field, with mint mark and denomination indicators completing the lower border inscription.
