Reverse description The reverse of the host Peruvian 8 Reales presents a standing figure of Liberty, draped and facing left, holding a column surmounted by a Phrygian cap in her right hand; at her left side rests an oval shield inscribed LIBERTAD. A small figure, likely representing Fame or a second allegorical personage, stands behind and to the left of Liberty. At the base of the composition, a radiant sun disk is depicted. The encircling legend, partially inverted in relation to the obverse, reads FIRME Y FELIZ POR LA UNION, separated by a central dot at the bottom of the field.
