Obverse description Central device comprising a vertical fasces surmounted by a Phrygian cap on a pike, with a crossed bow and bundle of arrows at its base, the whole flanked symmetrically by two cornucopias overflowing with fruits and foliage. The composition is rendered in high relief against a flat field. The circular legend REPUBLICA DE COLOMBIA arcs around the upper periphery, with the mint date 1836 positioned in the lower exergue, all in Latin script.
