Obverse description Laureate and draped bust of Ferdinand VII facing right, depicted in the neoclassical portrait style standard to Spanish colonial coinage of the period. The effigy shows the king with his hair tied in a ribbon at the nape, wearing a mantle with ruffled collar visible at the truncation. The royal name legend FERDND·VII·DEI·GRATIA runs clockwise around the periphery, with the mint date appearing in the lower exergual area below the bust. The coin displays a prominent milled border of fine radial denticles framing the entire design.
