| Obverse description | The obverse of the host coin depicts a standing figure of Liberty facing slightly left, draped in classical robes, holding a Phrygian cap atop a staff in her raised right hand and resting her left arm upon a large heraldic shield inscribed LIBERTAD in the lower field. A Philippine countermark — comprising the crowned monogram 'Y II' flanked by a castle and lion — is applied prominently to the center of the shield. The circular legend FIRME Y FELIZ POR LA UNION reads around the periphery, with a beaded border encircling the entire design. |
