| Obverse description | Bare-headed right-facing bust of Agustín de Iturbide (Agustín I, Emperor of Mexico) occupying the central field, with a milled border surrounding the entire coin. Superimposed on the neck and truncation of the bust is the Philippine countermark: a small oval indent bearing the crowned monogram 'Y II' (for Ysabel II) above a castle, applied by the Philippine authorities to authorize the host coin for local circulation. The peripheral legend reads 'AUGUST • DEI • PROV •' with the mint mark 'Mo' and date '1822' in the lower field. |
