Obverse description The obverse of this host coin displays the Central American Republic's distinctive arms within a circular inner border: a lush ceiba tree rising above two prominent globes, with the denomination '8' to the left and 'R' to the right of the globes, and small decorative flora at the base. Prominently applied at center is the oval Isabella II countermark, punched by Philippine colonial authorities between 1834 and 1837, depicting a crowned royal orb or castled device with pellets, authenticating the coin for circulation in the Philippines. The surrounding peripheral legend reads '• LIBRE CRESCA FECUNDO •' (Grow Free and Fertile), with the assayer and fineness indicators '• CR • F • 10Ds • 20Gs •' distributed around the lower field, all within a reeded border.
