| Obverse description | The obverse of the host coin displays a radiant sun with alternating straight and wavy rays emanating from a central circular field, within which a crowned 'Y II' monogram — the cypher of Isabella II — is applied as a Philippine countermark. The circumferential legend reads PROVINCIAS DEL RIO DE LA PLATA, identifying the Argentine host issue. A small floral ornament appears to the left of the legend as a decorative stop. |
