| Obverse description | Armored laureate bust of Ferdinand VII facing right, rendered in a somewhat crude provincial style characteristic of emergency Royalist coinage. The effigy is surrounded by a circular legend reading FERDIN•VII•DEI•GRATIA, with beaded borders encircling the entire design. The date appears in the lower exergue area below the bust truncation. The overall execution reflects the limited die-cutting resources available at the Chihuahua emergency mint during the Mexican War of Independence. |

| Reverse description | Crowned royal shield of Spain, quartered with castles and lions in the traditional Castile-León arrangement, flanked on either side by the Pillars of Hercules. The pillars bear scroll devices and rest on a ground line, representing the Strait of Gibraltar. A circular legend surrounds the entire composition, with the mint mark, assayer initials, denomination, and royal title distributed around the periphery, all within a beaded border. |
