Reverse description The reverse of the host coin, a Peruvian 8 Reales milled silver piece, bears the applied Manila countermark prominently in the central field, with the inscription MANILA above and the date 1828 below, struck in raised lettering within an oval or rectangular punch. Partial legends of the Peruvian host coin, including fragments of UNION FIRMEZA, are visible around the periphery of the coin, partially obscured by wear and the countermark application. The reeded border of the host coin remains intact around the circumference.
