Reverse description Quartered shield of Castile and León displayed within a quadrilobe or royal cross pattern, with the castles of Castile and the rampant lions of León alternating in the four quarters. The date 1617 appears in the upper field and the legend continues around the periphery. A milled or beaded border encircles the entire design, consistent with the roller-milled technique employed at the Segovia mint.
