Obverse description Laureate and draped bust of King Carlos IV facing right, rendered in the neoclassical style introduced by the bust coinage reform. The king's hair is tied with a ribbon at the nape, and he wears a laurel wreath. The circular legend reads CAROLUS IIII DEI GRATIA, with the mint date positioned in the lower exergual area below the truncation. A fine beaded border frames the entire obverse field.

The circular legend surrounds the design, with the mint assayer initials and denomination placed in the field. A beaded border frames the reverse.
