| Obverse description | Central device features the quartered royal coat of arms of Castile and León, displaying alternating castles and rampant lions in the four quadrants, with a small escutcheon at the base, all surmounted by an ornate royal crown. The assayer initials VJ appear to the left of the shield, and the denomination numeral 8 to the right, each flanked by small rosette stops.
