Obverse description The quartered royal arms of Saxony displayed on an ornate crowned shield occupy the central field, the complex heraldic composition incorporating the electoral sword and other dynastic quarterings. The shield is flanked on either side by upswept palm branches, their fronds curving symmetrically to frame the arms. A royal crown surmounts the shield at the apex. The mint mark 'H' appears in the lower field beneath the shield.
