Reverse description The central device displays the royal cypher of Charles XI, formed by two interlaced letter C's beneath a large royal crown at the top, with two additional smaller crowns flanking the monogram on the left and right, and a fourth small crown positioned at the base of the monogram above the denomination mark. Below the monogram, the denomination '8 M' is inscribed with the Stockholm mint mark between the figures. The date 1670 appears at the top of the field flanking the large crown. The circumferential Latin legend FACTUS EST DOMINVS PROTECTOR MEVS, a Psalm verse meaning 'The Lord is become my protector,' runs around the periphery, partially inverted at the base consistent with the medal alignment. The rim is milled throughout.
