| Obverse description | Laureate effigy of King Fernando VII facing right, rendered in the second portrait style with fine hair detail and a classical laurel wreath. The king's bust is unadorned and truncated at the neck. The circular legend reads FERDIN · VII · D · G · HISP · REX, denoting Ferdinand VII, King of Spain by the Grace of God. The mint mark J and denomination 8 are positioned to the left and right of the bust respectively, with the date appearing in the lower field below the truncation. The overall style reflects the neoclassical engraving tradition of the early nineteenth-century Spanish mints. |

| Reverse description | Central shield featuring the arms of Castile and León, displaying alternating quarters of a castle (for Castile) and a rampant lion (for León). A small central oval cartouche bears three fleurs-de-lis, emblematic of the Spanish Bourbon dynasty. The shield is surmounted by a royal crown and is framed by an ornamental wreath of laurel or olive branches encircling the entire design. The composition is derived from the Cross of Don Pelayo tradition, symbolizing the historical kingdoms of the Iberian Peninsula. The reverse field is plain with no additional legend. |
