Obverse description Central shield bearing the Nuremberg city arms — a quartered eagle displayed — with the date 1736 divided across the lower flanks of the shield. Above the shield, the denomination mark 'K' and value 'VIII' are inscribed in two lines within the inner field. The mintmaster's initials 'P·G·N·' appear below the shield in the exergue. A beaded inner circle frames the design, with the circular legend NÜRNBERGER STADT MÜNTZ surrounding the whole.
