Obverse description Armored and draped bust of Charles IV facing right, struck in the name of his heir Ferdinand VII, with the queue tied by a ribbon visible at the nape. The effigy depicts the elder monarch in military uniform with ornate epaulettes and lace cravat, rendered in the Neoclassical portrait style typical of late colonial Spanish American coinage. The circular legend reads FERDND·VII·D·G·HISP·ET IND·R·, invoking Ferdinand VII by the Grace of God, King of the Spains and the Indies. The date appears in the lower exergue flanked by pellets, while a fine toothed border frames the entire design.
